There are different therapies that are all centred around the principle that the counsellor is not meant to tell you what to do but rather to help you uncover the root causes of the challenges you face and find ways to cope with your problems.

Counselling can enhance your strengths and give you the ability to deal with a vast number of issues, such as stress, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem or simply feeling stuck and unmotivated, due to various reasons, recent or past that affect your life and the life of you loved ones.

Counselling is done in a private, safe and confidential environment where talking with a specialist outside your family or business environment that can offer a new perspective.

There are specific rules that govern the handling of the information disclosed during the sessions.

Nobody is judged or criticised in order to promote real personal growth and change.

My approach

Humanistic Counselling based on Transactional Analysis is the main theory supporting my therapeutic approach.It is recognised as a modern form of psychology that incorporates elements of humanistic, person centred, integrative, psychodynamic therapies into a very versatile therapy that can be used in treatment of all types of psychological disorders, from everyday living problems to severe psychosis.

Humanistic Counselling emphasises understanding and improving individual well-being through self-awareness and personal growth.

Transactional Analysis (Berne, 1910-1970) is a theory of personality and a systematic psychotherapy for personal growth and personal change (Stewart & Joines, 1997) which explores interpersonal interactions using concepts like "ego states" (Parent, Adult and Child) that influence the so called "transactions", i.e. how people function, express themselves and interact with others.

Transactional analysis techniques involve analysing patterns of communication, behavior, and thoughts and can help you understand how these are, and have been, influenced by these internal ego states and change unproductive patterns in your interactions to promote healthier relationships and personal growth.

In our counselling sessions, you and I would explore how your experiences, especially in childhood, shaped your personality, and work directly in the "here and now" with the ultimate goal to ensure you regain control of your life.

I sometimes use the Re-decision technique (Goulding & Goulding, 1917-1992) in a hybrid of Gestalt and TA that helps clients achieve a change in emotions and behaviours that counteract old decisions.

  • Trauma and PTSD: Transactional analysis can aid in processing traumatic experiences and managing symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) by fostering resilience and emotional regulation skills.
  • Personality Disorders: It can be used as part of a comprehensive treatment plan for certain personality disorders, helping individuals understand and modify maladaptive behaviors and thought patterns.

I work with a set fee structure but agreed fees are fully inclusive so that you know all the costs involved.

      60 GBP Individual Counselling

      85 GBP Couple Counselling

      65 GBP Individual Counselling

      90 GBP Couple Counselling

    • Face to Face

      Monday to Friday 10 am - 5pm 

      75 GBP Individual Counselling

      100 GBP Couple Counselling

      Concessions are available in specific circumstances and depending on the location/time of the session.
